St. Brendan´s College is a Cambridge Associate School and an international examination centre and, ever since its foundation in 1966, has run its international curricula alongside the University of Cambridge International Education and Examinations Programme. Subjects taught both in Spanish and in English have integrated syllabuses to prepare our Secondary school students to sit for IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) and AS Level Examinations.
Our Cambridge staff take part in professional development programmes run by Cambridge at ESSARP or through online courses and also attend educational conferences.
The preparation for Cambridge International Examinations opens the students’ minds to a global understanding of international contexts and knowledge and allows them to develop multiple learning skills according to their individual capacities. This is why they are a valuable asset to our students´ growth both at a personal level and as students who will go on to university studies both in Argentina and abroad.
Our students begin preparation for their IGCSE in 1st Year of Secondary School and sit for their IGCSEs between 3rd Year and 4th Year thus completing their I.C.E. (International Certificate of Education) which is a seven subject award. In 4th and 5th Year our students go on to prepare their AS Level examinations.
All Cambridge International Examinations are sat for in the October / November Session.
Incoming students need to have attended a school where they have studied subjects taught in the English language to be able to meet the demands of our international curricula. They are all required to sit for an Entry Exam of English the content of which is in accordance with the Cambridge curricula.
St. Brendan’s College es un “Cambridge Associate School” y un centro internacional de exámenes y, desde su fundación en 1966, ha desarrollado su currícula internacional junto con el programa de educación y exámenes de la Universidad de Cambridge. Las materias dictadas tanto en castellano como en inglés tienen programas integrados para preparar a nuestros alumnos para rendir los exámenes IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) y AS Level.
Nuestro equipo docente participa en programas de desarrollo profesional dictados por Cambridge en ESSARP o en cursos online y asisten a conferencias sobre educación.
La preparación para los exámenes internacionales de Cambridge permite a los alumnos abrir sus mentes a una comprensión global de contextos y conocimientos internacionales y les permite desarrollar una multiplicidad de habilidades de aprendizaje de acuerdo a sus capacidades individuales. Es por eso que estos exámenes son un bien valioso para el crecimiento de nuestros alumnos a nivel personal y como estudiantes que continuarán sus estudios en universidades tanto en Argentina como en el extranjero.
Nuestros alumnos comienzan la preparación para los IGCSE en 1er año de Secundaria y rinden sus IGCSE entre 3er y 4to año completando así su I.C.E. (International Certificate of Education) que es un título que comprende siete materias. En 4to y 5to año nuestros alumnos se preparan para los exámenes de AS Level.
Todos los exámenes internacionales de Cambridge se rinden en la sesión de octubre/noviembre.
Los alumnos ingresantes deberán haber asistido a una institución en donde hayan estudiado materias en inglés para así poder enfrentar la exigencia de nuestra currícula internacional. Deben rendir un examen de ingreso de acuerdo al contenido de la currícula de Cambridge.
